Sick
I was so looking forward to this weekend off after so many wedding weekends. I felt like I was coming down with something since last Sunday. It finally hit me hard on Friday. I have a bad head cold, cough and fatigue. I woke up at 5am today and then went back to be at 7:45 and slept til 10. I wanted to got farmers market. But it rained and was cold all day. We have a chance at some snow again tonight. Seems strange to be this cold in October. We have not put on our heat yet though. Ran the fire place for a bit in the mornings though.
Even with being sick I managed to do a ton of laundry and get a few things picked up. Ron made me hot n sour soup which was fantastic. Made me feel good enough to clean up the kitchen afterward.
Boys want to have a halloween party. I am just not sure I want to go through the work. Ron says we have to do it in the garage. I am concerned it will be too cold next weekend to do so. Basement is a mess.
Ron took the boys to the halloween parade in Asbury. Go to digitaldubuque.com to view some photos. I stayed home. It was nice out that night. Then they came back and had a fire and burned up a bunch of little twigs that were on the side of the house. We lost our plum tree in the front yard this summer and Ron cut it up and put it on the side of the house to burn up.
Picked brussel sprouts today from the garden. Two stalks yielded about 3 pounds or so. First time we ever grew them. They were great. Very mild and small.
With the rainy day the boys played with legos and took a little camcorder and made some movies of their work. Willie was really excited to put the movies on the Mac and add transitions and put them together. He was so excited he kept shooting off and on all evening. Maybe I will have some helpers soon.
Mitchel made his own soup tonight for himself and his brother. It was cute to see both Ron and Mitchel in the kitchen together. He has overcome alot. Would not touch a raw shrimp before today. He had to peel and cut them in half! Previously he was just grossed out too much to touch them.

I made chili for the first time last week, and i made salsa for the first time today. Ron would be proud! :)
