Shadow
It was with a heavy heart that I had to have Shadow euthanized today. She awoke yesterday about 1:30 with a breathing problem. I took her in and a chest xray appeared that her lungs and heart was good. Did not expect that. She could not breathe in through her nose. So she was snorting in and out through her mouth. They gave her a shot to maybe pull her out of it but it did not work. I called this am and made an appointment for 3:30. Mitchel took her in with me. We did not stay. Talked about staying, bringing her home for burial etc, but none of us could do it. We gave her a cat treat at the office and handed her over(dog treats were too big and hard).
I think her teeth rotted so bad it created an abcess or blockage in the sinus cavity and she could not breathe. It would have been mean to let her suffer. She could not eat and would stand up and pee whereever she was.
Boys(and the big one) are taking it very hard. She was 15 1/2 and had a great life!

Oh Jenn, I am so sorry to hear this. I know how important she was to your family and how much of a hole this will leave in your life. Meeting your puppies solidified my decision to someday get a retired greyhound.
My deepest sympathy for your loss...

My sincere sympathy. I'm not even sure what to say, but please know all of you are my thoughts.

I actually cried a little when telling Allie the news of Shadow's impending departure right after I talked to you about it.
Your home will still be a fun place to visit, but I think something will somehow always be someway missing.
