Moonlight

We went for a moonlight hike tonight with Sierra club out at Swiss Valley. It was the first time they did it. It was crisp and not too cold. I did not need a flashlight because Mother Nature brought one for me.

Willie is not in love with these type of things. I told him to wear a coat and shoes with socks. He wore a pull over shirt and socks with his crocs(which are 2 sizes too small). Mitchel hung out with the leader, of course, and talked his ear off.

If you get a chance even to sit on your porch or stand by your car when you get out, even for a moment - take a look at the natural flashlight. She works really well and doesn't need any batteries.

  • Its amazing what we see at our house at night with the "no battery" flashlight! Come out some night!

Willie reminds me SO much of Issac... he would complain the entire time :( instead of trying to enjoy a little of it.

  • Jerry and I enjoyed the view on the way to Dubuque last night. The moon was HUGE...close to us and low in the sky. And bright orange. Really nice.

  • Unfortunately, the headlights of my VW Jetta cannot be turned off while the vehicle is running.

One of my favorite night-time activities as a teenager back in southwest Virginia was driving on the backroads during a full moon, cutting off the headlights, and driving with only the light of the moon to light my way.
