Long Weekend

Friday night we met all our neighbors for drinks at Courtside. After that, Jeff and Ally came over to interview Mitchel as the kid of the week for the Weekender. Since we were parents of the year it seemed appropriate for Mitchel to get a little limelight also. Thanks Jeff. Then we worked on taking photos of Angela until something like Midnight. Was lots of fun and I think we got something good.

Saturday we went to the Bald Eagle Watch and Bridal show that were both at the Grand River Center. I stayed to take photos of the show for Sherrie. She took over ownership of the bridal show as of Jan 1. I am so proud of her! She will run a tight ship and do amazing things I am sure. Ron and the boys went over to the River Museum to see Troy Henkels and his movie. Troy, a native Dubuquer tried to cross the Bering straight. They did not make it but the documentary was very moving and he answered questions. I went over and got the boys from the museum on my way out of the bridal show.

Sunday we cleaned up around her a bunch. We got some snow. We all particpated in scout bowling, yes even Jenwhoneverdoesanything athletic. Willie kept getting gutter balls but his swing was so perfect - great hook by my leftie. He was very po'd. We were so proud cause he was so very consistant. He has great potential. Just needs a little more strength. We made procutto wrapped scallops for dinner. Yum.

More snow overnight so it was play time in the am for the boys. They were out practically all day. I went out for a few moments and took my cross country skis for a couple of blocks in the neighborhood. Did a bunch of laundry. Took my tree down and most of my other decor. It is not put away yet though. Ron had the day off and we got his tires rotated, oil change and bit of shopping done at Walmart.

Eat my words.
I said years ago if ony we had a Best Buy and a Sams Club in Dubuque that I would not have to go out of town to go shopping. Well, Sams opens unofficially on Wednesday to business owners and officially on Thursday am. And since we already have Best Buy I guess I am pretty much set right here in Dubuque. Thank you Dubuque for all the support of these and local businesses.
